Dr. Colorado has 19 years of experience in the field of education. Before being named as Assistant Principal to Charles City High School, she was a School Improvement Specialist in a high school in Williamsburg-James City County Public Schools in Williamsburg, Virginia. She also spent 17 years teaching gifted students in various settings in Williamsburg-James City County Public Schools, Virginia Beach City Public Schools, and Hanover County Public Schools.
She earned her B.A. in Psychology from Randolph-Macon College in Ashland, Virginia; her M.A.Ed. in Elementary Education with an endorsement in Gifted and Talented Education from The College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia; and her Ed.D. in Gifted Education Administration as part of the Educational Policy, Planning, and Leadership Program at The College of William and Mary; and her license in Administration and Supervision at the same time.
In her free time, she loves watching her three sons play baseball, running with her husband and running group, taking Mixed Martial Arts Fitness classes with her husband, and reading.
