Welcome to the Charles City Public Schools family. Enrolling your student is the first step in allowing us to partner with you to provide him/her with a world class education. Please reference the information below for the required forms and documentation needed to enroll your child.
Students who have previously enrolled in another school division should complete the registration paperwork (see below) and make an appointment to meet with the division registrar to enroll in Charles City County Public Schools. Please bring the name, phone number, and address of your child's previous school so that records and transcripts may be requested. Once registration is complete, an appointment will be made to meet with the school counselor to schedule classes for your child.
Children who are 5 years old by September 30th can start kindergarten in the fall. National registration is held in the spring each year; please click on the image below for more information on this year's Kindergarten Registration. If you are unable to attend on that day, please contact the division's registrar, Linda Easter, to schedule an appointment. See the links below for the necessary paperwork. Also, please complete the Kindergarten Information Form to help our staff acquaint themselves with your student.
Charles City County Public Schools offers a limited number of prekindergarten spots in our VPI program which provides school-readiness skills to eligible children with the greatest need. Children must be 4 years old by September 30 and toilet trained (without pullups). There are no exceptions to age and residency requirements. Applying does not guarantee acceptance as it is based on a set criteria of need. Prekindergarten VPI applications are accepted from March 1 to May 1 at the School Board Office to the attention of the Student Registrar. The link for the application is listed below.
Also, there is a prekindergarten program for children with disabilities who must be 2 years old by September 30 to enroll. Each year, Charles City County Public Schools conducts Child Find to locate children with disabilities who need special education services or Section 504 services. If you suspect your child may have a disability, contact the Office of Student Services and Special Programs for enrollment and application information.
Please contact the division student registrar with questions or to schedule an appointment.
