Bruce Person, Jr.

Get to know Mr. Person, our Band Teacher

Hello! My name is Bruce B. Person, Jr. This is my 4th year as a teacher/band director in the Charles City County Public School District and my 10th year teaching overall. The first 6 years of my teaching career were at Carter G. Woodson Middle School as a teacher/band director and as the Assistant Band Director at Hopewell High School. The journey thus far has been a great one and I strive to continue for many more years. Being a band director has allowed me to share my love for music with hundreds of students. Music Education has allowed the students I teach to experience the world in a much more meaningful way than most traditional classrooms do.

For those who want to know a little bit more about me here goes. I grew up in Henrico County, VA and Prince George’s County, MD. I am a proud alumnus of the Oxon Hill Class of 2001. I received my Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Music Education from Bethune-Cookman University in 2006. I am a fan of the Washington Redskins, Washington Wizards, Baltimore Orioles and Joe Gibbs Racing. Besides music I also enjoy motorcycling and drag racing.
