Carolyn Chambers

Get to know Mrs. Chambers, our CTE: Acct, WP, Design Multimedia Teacher

Greetings,  My name is Carolyn Lewis Chambers and I am delighted to be an educator in the Charles City County School District. This is my 5th year here at CCHS teaching in the Career and Technical Education (CTE) Vocational Technology and Business departments. I currently teach Accounting, Word Processing, and Design, Multimedia and Web Technologies. I truly enjoy and consider it a blessing to teach to my students 21st century “real world” skills to help them be successful in life. I’ve been teaching technology for 16 years. The first 11 were at All Saints Catholic School in Richmond, Va., where I was a technology coordinator and teacher. I taught Pre-K thru 8th grade Microsoft Office and computer technology skills.

Prior to that, I was fortunate to work for Philip Morris U.S.A. for 20 years in various positions as a programmer and analyst in the Information Systems and Human Resources Departments. This is where my love for teaching began. Teaching fellow employees how to use all of the emerging pc, desktop, and conferencing technologies of the 80’s and 90’s that I was just simply delighted to learn first-hand, and then teach to others. Other employment opportunities and experiences over the years before Philip Morris at companies such as Sears & Roebuck, State of Virginia - Supplemental Retirement System and the Bank of Virginia, and Lewis & Associates Real Estate Appraisals after Philip Morris helped educate me in the real world of business practices and they all contributed immensely to my business/technology career.

My love for technology began as far back as my school days in the Richmond Public School System. I am a proud Armstrong Wildcat. That era’s audio visual equipment was fascinating to me then. At Virginia State College, now University, I received my B.S. degree in Business Information Systems. Many years later, a fascination with experiencing an online course and the desire to delve deeper into the field of education led me to an online class. Less than two years later, I was blessed to earn my master’s degree in education from Regent University. I am a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, soror, an aunt, daughter-in-law, sister-in-law, church member, teacher, and friend who enjoys reading, gardening, walking and participating in activities with my church, sorority, school, friends and family.

If you need to contact me for any reason, I can be reached at the high school phone number (804) 829-9249 and by email at

We are on the path to a remarkable and successful school year!
